Call it what you want, the unique action drives fish crazy, and it can be worked in a variety of ways, fast, slow, cast or trolled, the Maverick has a truly unique action not replicated by any other lure. It was originally designed by Damon Olsen to imitate wounded baitfish at very slow speeds on calm days, with the objective of being easy to work.

A combination of rolling and wiggling action and subtle surface splashes combined with the underwater bubble trail was the idea behind the design. Sometimes when it is either very calm or the fish are just lazy and lethargic, you need a lure that just makes the fish eat, and the Maverick is it.

The Maverick was also designed to be super easy to use. If you are an experienced angler you will make this lure do things that will get you very excited, but even first time blue water casting anglers are going to catch fish with this lure just by moving the rod tip. It is a true all-rounder.

Maverick 140mm

The Maverick 140 can be worked with a slow twitching action of the rod to get an amazing walk the dog surface action, which has booth a subtle splash, body roll and side to side pivoting action, It can also be worked with a long slow sweep of the rod for a completely unique crazy underwater swimming action matched with a splash and bubble trail.

There are few lures as versatile as the Maverick 140. It is ideal when slowly walked across the surface for barramundi or Murray Cod, but is equally at home on a reef flat or being cast into s boiling school of tuna, kingfish or mackerel. There are few fish that won’t eat a Maverick.

Maverick 230 - Calmwater & Roughwater

The Maverick 230 calmwater can be worked with a slow twitching action of the rod, or for the ultimate action, can be worked with a long slow sweep of the rod to get the crazy underwater swimming action, splash and bubble trail. The trick with the maverick is a slightly faster rod sweep on the first 1/5 of the sweep. This pulls the head underwater with a big gulp of air and then creates the bubble trail. The rest of the sweep should be smooth and slow and you will feel the Maverick thumping and swimming through the rod tip. The cupped head and air chambers going through to the underside of the body have been designed to force bubbles along the side of the body, where they hug the sides of the lure creating a unique rolling swimming action.

 The Maverick Roughwater is designed with the weights placed forward in the head section, and can be cast in rougher weather and used as a sub-surface stickbait, but where the Maverick 230 Roughwater really shines is when trolled. The incredible swimming action is unlike any other lure and it drives mackerel, tuna, wahoo and kingfish wild. The Maverick 230 is made with Stainless Steel metal plates, HD ABS plastic and a foam filled body for the ultimate in strength and durability. The calmwater and roughwater versions have the weights placed at different internal locations to make the lure more suited to either calm or rough conditions.

*The Maverick 230mm is supplied unrigged. We recommend using 2 x 11/0 or 12/0 BKK DEEP 6X hooks on the belly, rigged back to back, and a Nomad Inline 11/0 single on the tail. Alternately, a pair of 6/0 BKK GT Rex barbless trebles should be used.

We also offer an upgraded next day delivery service from £9.99. This is a next working day service. Please be aware that you must place your order before 1:00pm for next day delivery. Orders placed after 1:00pm on Thursday should arrive Monday. Orders placed after the 1:00pm cut off on Friday will not be dispatched until Monday, for Tuesday arrival. We will always try our best to ship your goods as promptly as possible however there may be circumstances beyond our control that result in delivery being delayed.
